Drury Buildings

BARCHICK SAYS

Take an old rag trade, six storey, derelict building in the heart of Dublin, add cocktails, tapas, wine and a bit of imagination and this is the result. It’s kind of like a NYC loft with its exposed brick and high ceilings, reclaimed bars and church benches; it’s pretty cool.

Weekends is when this place really gets going, when the DJ fires up the decks and Dublin’s finest spill through the doors. You can book a table upstairs and do it properly with the a la carte menu, but we say hit the downstairs up for cocktails. They do the classics well and have a load of signature cocktails like the Devil’s Margarita (the blackcurrent reduction turns it black) and The Unusual ‘Cucumber and Horseradish Collins’ gets your attention with a healthy hit of wasabi syrup.

The bar bites menu is mega and will keep you standing if you want to dive head first into the cocktail menu. We’re talking fried arancini, artichoke hearts, calamari fritters or big sharing platters. Nice.
