BARCHICK SAYS

Greeted at a lectern, and seated at pews or if you choose to eat alfresco, old Sunday school benches, you’d be forgiven for thinking you were attending church (until you catch sight of the spaceship styled oven that is). That said, the only thing you’ll be praising is the pizza and mon dieu it’s good.

Settle in amongst the hipsters and Soho types. Art on the walls changes, lamps have been pilfered from ships and factories and tiles sourced from somewhere in the Med, all in all the vibe is chilled and welcoming. Choose your pizza: they’re scrawled on a black board near the door: choose by the triangle or by the circle. We tucked into a Margarita (simply perfect) and a courgette & artichoke slice, our mess was testament to their deliciousness. Do smother them in the hotter of the chilli sauce, it comes in a skull shaped bottle… you have been warned.

We drank prosecco by the glass, drink wine if you don’t have much work to do after, a magnum is plonked in the middle of the table and at the end of the meal a ruler is held against it to see how much you owe. Dangerous but we loved it. They operate by a four rule in here, pizza slices are £4 as are glasses of vino… we say take four mates, stay four hours and drink four bottles.

Everyone should get a slice of this action.
