We reckon this is the best Italian restaurant in town and its three Michelin stars pretty much back us up - in fact, it’s the only three-starred Italian joint outside of Italy. But dreamy pasta aside, Otto E Mezzo's small, intimate bar, is super sophisticated (as you’d expect).
This exceedingly classy spot doesn't mess about when it comes to doing things well. Serving all the classic cocktails (the Martinis and Negronis are particularly good), as well as having a knock out Italian wine list – watch out it will do just that if you attempt to work your way through it.
The staff are top notch and incredibly passionate about what they do, an enthusiasm clearly stemming from the man who created the concept, maestro chef Umberto Bombana.
We love coming here for a sneaky afternoon drink when things are calm and quiet. Sit comfortably at the bar or one of the small side tables, entertain a client, or simply chat to the hugely knowledgeable bar staff about the intricacies of boutique Italian grappas, or Franciacortas, or Brunello di Montalcinos. As soon as the wide array of mouthwatering 'stuzzichini' start to arrive (every day from 5-9pm), you'll be locked in till late.
