It can be a risky business, taking one of the best cocktail bars in the world and then trying to recreate the magic in another country. Please Don't Tell took a punt by heading over to Hong Kong - and luckily it seems to have paid off.  You can seek it out in Landmark Mandarin Oriental - the same place they had their wildly successful popup back in 2016. That was the trial run - this time it's for real, and people are finding it hard not to spread the word. 

If you think you recognise elements from the NYC original, you'd not be wrong. There's the fake phone booth that everyone went gaga for (don't know the lucky number? No cocktails for you). Taxidermy animals give you the glassy eye from the walls. Well, they've nailed sleek, speakeasy-style, so why change? If you're rolling with a crew, this might not be the spot - the intimate bar only seats 25. But for date night vibes it's killing it. 

Equally compact is the cocktail menu. You'll be able to work your way through 15 different serves - a mix of Hong Kong originals and classics from New York. Fans of the original will notice the Benton Old Fashioned. Come on, bacon-infused Wild Turkey bourbon combined with maple syrup needs to be repeated, surely.
