Reasons to love Pikes: Wham’s Club Tropicana video was shot here, Freddie Mercury had his own room, there’s a pink tennis court, the pool is deep enough to dive into, the staff are REALLY hot and awesome, the weekly Ibiza Rocks after parties are even cooler than Ibiza Rocks AND the Sunday roast is better than ya momma makes it. This legendary hotel (made up of Room 39, Freddie's Bar and the Pool Bar) is on the outskirts of San An but you still need a car to get to it, which is nifty because it keeps the riff raff down to a minimum. Pikes really has the illegal house party vibe down to a T, there are hiding places everywhere and ever since Tony Pike bought the 500 year old building in the 70s it’s been a landmark for mischief. If you ever need moral justification for bad behaviour just think “George Michael did it here first.”

The frozen Pina Colada here really is something else, BarChick developed a dangerous dependency on them over the summer and still has withdrawal symptoms now. Visit Pikes on Wednesday night or Sunday day, Wednesday for the Ibiza Rocks after party (we partied with Dizzy Rascal and Pro Green, brap) or Sunday for DJ Antz and Jon Sa Trinxa. Look out for Tony, although he sold up to Ibiza Rocks a few years ago, he still lives at the hotel and can be found telling tales of misdemeanour around the pool most days.
