On weekends this place is pumping with the high-end glamour types, who want the biggest bottle on their table, the biggest rock on their finger and have their plastic surgeon on speed dial. But during the week, it’s a totally different story. Head here on Sunday through to Thursday and get your chill on with a sun-downer and sweet skyline view. Things can pick up when the awesome house band spins old school funked-up classics – watch downtown Dubai’s version of suits get dancing.
Located in the Oberoi Hotel, this is one of Beirut’s best exports, and is surprisingly homely for Dubai. It looks cool, with lots of clean wood and glass rather than the usual flashiness, and the in house art gallery adds bonus cool points. The cocktails & Mediterranean cuisine are fresh and satisfying, though pricey. The Drunken Flower (vodka, white cranberry juice and orange blossom water) is strong & gave BarChick a good start to work her way through the apperitivos and punches on offer.
A secret happy hour from 6 to 8pm during the week gets you 50% off all drinks except bubbles. Hello school night boozing.
