The Blind Pig

BARCHICK SAYS

Finding this place is an accomplishment, but the reward for your perseverance is something quite unique. An ancient storeroom is now a watering hole inside a historical building at the heart of St. Helier, sounds like a winner, right?

Enter via a wardrobe at the back of a Weatherspoons type establishment and find yourself in the windowless Blind Pig. Baroque mirrors adorn walls and Renaissance art, which spans the high ceiling drips decadence over the crowd below. The back bar is made from 200 year old French oak carved to perfection and winking bottles and jars give a nod to the apothecary.
When it comes to drinks, classics are served in metal goblets and even miniature plant pots. A traditional absinthe fountain stands proudly on the bar, whilst flashes of blue flame scorch exotic garnishes.

Looking for somewhere to lock something away in… your conscience perhaps? Owner Brian’s ingenious ‘locker and key’ system is epic, collect the following day what you can no longer cart around. Pearls, lingerie (ahem) and classified documents have all lurked in these lockers, we all know the best things are under lock and key, right?
