BarChicks knows that a crucial part of a sunny summer break is finding the highest cocktail bar in the city; by that we mean geographically - the one with the best views rather than the one that will get us most intoxicated although that’s a constant benefit of the job. Zambezi is a restaurant first and foremost but one that dishes out excellent drinks on it’s huge hilltop terrace just below Castelo S Jorge.
It’s the usual all white beach-deco style furniture and big comfy sofas where you can lie back under the big, blue Lisbon sky with a drink in hand. This BarChick would usually judge the strength of a cocktail bar on its Espresso Martini but when it’s not an option, a Margarita acts as the yardstick - here it’s slightly average and in the higher price range but it doesn’t take away from the amazing, panoramic views across Lisbon and the Rio Tejo.
