The Philharmonic Dining Rooms

The Philharmonic Dining Rooms

BARCHICK SAYS

Fascinating, antique and featuring the only grade 1 listed loos in the country - this place is vintage, babes. Ornately carved snugs, intricate mosaics and a whole lot of boozers can be found here. Known to the locals as ‘The Phil’ since it was commissioned between 1898 and 1900, it takes its name from the Philharmonic Hall opposite. Bravo.

Don’t be thinking you can get cocktails here, they’d laugh in your face. What you can expect is an eclectic collection of real ales, from one of the most beautiful bars BarChick has ever laid eyes on. It’s a spectacle. If you’d like to impress someone with a bit of Liverpool’s rich history, or drink somewhere cosy before switching to a faster pace, then this is the place for you. A quick note, it’s only the male loos that are interesting, sneak in if you’re brave, BarChick did, in the name of culture of course. Oh and if you get the munchies food is served all week from 11am to 10pm.
