You might not guess it, but this place is from those clever guys behind the forever booked up Dabbous restaurant. The clue’s in the title, Barnyard is a much more relaxed affair and only just around the corner should you want to compare notes. Inside is a long bar which you can eat at, and the restaurant is hidden up stairs behind a tree and fence; real life yard vibes - tick.
The food menu is amazing and well-priced, with most sides only costing £3 (yes please cauliflower cheese), we also recommended the wings and the roast beef on toast.
As you’d expect from a bar created by Oskar Kinberg, the drinks are pretty bad ass in here – Shandies, Hard Shakes and Boilermakers are the name of the game in here with a wine and beer option too. We loved the Country House Shandy with elderflower, lemon, ginger ale, bourbon and Goose Island IPA, and if you don’t want a pudding definitely try their Lavender shake with white rum.
Oh, and word of warning do NOT turn up here in a checked shirt because you will become part of the bar team (yeah, we learnt this the hard way).
