Literally, you gotta head down a neon-lit staircase into what seems like a  wood-panelled basement. It's actually a sexy subterranean speakeasy den with a meat-heavy menu and inventive cocktails, plus live music in their lounge every month. Perfect for a date night (low lighting = always your friend) or a mega catch up with your crew when you want a table of ribs on ribs, Dirty Bones nails the balance of casual and serious quality. Less about getting sticky fingers and more about sharing a slate of something braised, racked, roistered, picked, pulled or plucked - and downing cocktails while you’re at it. We’ll drink to that.

Sharing is encouraged and a perch at the bar is the way to go if, like BarChick, you’re mainly in it for the booze. The cocktail menu is mega. The Deputy Dog with tequila, grapefruit and mint should start you off right, all the way through to a bourbon-based Mutt's Nuts at the end. Don't forget to order the cheeseburger dumplings - complete gamechanger. We're also a sucker for the quirky decor - keep your eyes peeled for the pinball machine and the retro fridge door that's hiding another secret room. At the weekend is pops off with a DJ playing til the early hours so you can dance off those crispy lamb fries. We'll see ya there.
