Just when you thought Mayfair was all wine bars and eye-wateringly expensive Martinis, Burlock breezes in with a sh*t load of rum and carnival vibes. Nice one. Even better it’s the brainchild of the guys behind some of our favourite London bars – Opium and 68 & Boston – so you don’t need to ask if it’s gonna be good.

Inside think Shoreditch Caribbean mash-up, with clashing wallpapers, sexy pebble chandeliers and a faux Havana style barbershop that doubles up as a drinking area. Sipping on Cuban creations under a huge retro hairdryer – hi Instagram! It's small, dimly lit and intimate, but there's still room for 200 different bottles of rum behind the bar.

Join BarChick on a high stool for some impromptu tastings with Timmy – we love the Indian-style Wild Tiger, grrrr. Cocktail-wise, they're using doing something tropically elaborate, like their menu map that lets you drink your way around the Caribbean. Then again, you can't go wrong with one of their dreamy daiquiris. Oh yeah, there's a food and drink Happy Hour too. Get a few in 'cos you won’t be leaving ’til the doors close at 3am.
