BarChick went to a kick ass rave up here once… this year the rooftop garden is back and with a pop-up bar, Indie foodie events, outdoor film screenings and acoustic gigs. When the sun is out its sky high places like this that you want to get to, so grab a date/mate and work those thighs up the 5 story staircase. It has views all the way into the centre of town, kitsch all weather furniture and (fake) bright green grass to get settled on. There are also a bunch of communal allotments that make it look more Garden of Eden than Hackney rooftop.

This place calls itself a pop-up bar as it’s only open for the summer months and hibernates for the rest of the year, our kinda style. Background Bars are the guys behind the drinks and boy do these guys make a good cocktail, or grab yourself a beer and enjoy the view. On the food side of things they have a bunch of up-and-coming food vendors which are on rotation, currently Le Bao are doing their thing, which is a British take on the Asian Bao bun.
