This Notting Hill institution once suffered from a fire but you wouldn't know it! There's a panelled roof, super long bar, hot red booths, open plan kitchen and some all American attitudes. Yup every member of staff was shipped out to Chicago for a month to train under Brendan Sodikoff, who is famed for having created one of the USA's best burgers at his French-American diner Au Cheval.
Kick-off is 8am in here and you can expect some serious breakfasts, but we say hit it for lunch/dinner. It’s Bloody Marys if you're hanging, or spice it up a bit and have a New York Sour with Woodfood reserve, Graham's port, lemon and egg white. Check out their bottled beer selection, we love the sound of the Flying Dog Snake Dog. Soak it up with some of that food, easy now, there's a lot to choose from. Burger? Obvs, that¹s two patties, get a double if you want three, then the honey fried chicken with chilli is boom.
We ate fries with fried egg and gruyere Mornay and the bologna sandwich nearly killed us. Drinking? Well they have ten beers on tap, ten bottles and root beer floats, but one thing’s for sure, you finish off with a Pickleback.
