This swish and curiously kitsch sparkling wine bar is exactly the pick-me-up Covent Garden needed. On the ground floor, it's a glam affair with plush velvet armchairs adorned with cushions decorated with the faces of Hollywood celebrities (if you've ever wanted to sit on Brad Pitt's face, here is your chance) and colourful taxidermy peacocks.  But you'll find BarChick in the basement.  With black walls, a dome ceiling and alcoves lined with green velvet benches - it's our kinda spot. 

This has gotta be London's best sparkling wine parlour with over 50 glasses of the stuff to work through. Don't worry if you know f*ck all about sparkling wines. Owner Andrew knows does and he's happy to teach you. Get stuck into some English Sparkling wine, plenty of Prosecco (no way) hell even a sparkling red. 

What's wine without snacks? If there is one dish you can't miss it's the Den Miso Cured Aubergine. Show us someone who has eaten a better vegetable and we will show you a liar.  They also offer Sunday brunch and a whole load of events throughout the week; talks and stories from scientists, pioneers and adventurers; and parlour game nights where you can challenge your crew to a game of cards of dice. Just don't play for money. Play for wine. Then there are no losers.
