Perfectly positioned opposite the station, Halfway House in Earlsfield at first look is your standard local boozer. But take a step further past the bar and you'll find a quirky conservatory, a fun terrace for those braving the cold for a smoke and a separate restaurant area, giving a little something for everyone.

The drinks on offer here are minimal but classic, think great wines, ales and martinis. Nothing that's going to knock you off of your seat, but all perfectly formed and guaranteed to keep you going back for more. The food, however, is epic. We’re talking pub grub gone wild. BarChick could have eaten there for days and managed to chomp through three courses of greatness refusing to admit defeat when the platter of desserts was carried over.

This is a perfect all-rounder, great for cosy Sundays, mid-week drinks and fun Saturday nights. If you do nothing else, order up the mac’n’cheese, grab a Negroni and find the wallpaper featuring the hunters with eyeballs for heads, obv.
