As soon as you step through the doors, all your stresses disappear. This place is bright, spacious and cheery and there’s always a good buzz. Traditional Spanish cuisine with a modern twist is precisely what Señor Nacho Manzano, (Ibérica’s executive chef), had in mind when he olé-d into town with a Michelin star in each hand (from his flagship restaurant back in Spain), so come and sample his delights.
The bar is enormous and the friendly bar staff will ensure you are well looked after. Settle in for the long haul, it’s so damn inviting in here you won’t be grabbing a quick bite and running. Drink cava, sherry, amazing gin and tonics or hit their cocktails (all are classics which are done well). If you’re feeling especially Español then drink from a porrón, an authentic glass pitcher with a spout.
If the sun is shining then head outside to the terrace in a leafy corner of Cabot Square. Quite how the team have managed to recreate the terrace culture of Madrid with such authenticity and simplicity in amongst these skyscrapers is beyond belief. La Terraza is a peaceful pocket of pleasure and a perfect welcome break for the suits. You can order tapas from a limited edition menu as well as traditional Spanish wine and cocktails.
Indulge with your glass (bottle) of Rioja, Cava Sangria or a Gin Mare gin and tonic. Choose from dishes such as fried chorizo lollypops, chicken with chilindrón sauce and rosemary potatoes, chick pea purée, rib-eye with Cabrales cheese sauce, to name just a few (vegetarians may wish to look away if anybody nearby orders the milk-fed suckling pig).
