Who's a fan of the Smoking Goat Thai food in Shoreditch (formerly Soho)? Er, who isn't? Well, since those guys opened a place on Brewer Street, the jury's out if this one's even better. Seriously.
There's a 'side of a road in Thailand' vibe - but without the Koh Sarn chaos and risk of food poisoning. There's still a lot of fire involved (Smoking Goat is big on the BBQ) and this time the short grill menu is cooked up in open kilns in the middle of the room. Yes, it gets hot, and prepare to wait for a walk-in spot at the counter - but you won't care. It's that good.
The menu changes up regularly so we won't get you too excited about the insane Burmese short rib curry that's got to be up there with the best thing we've ever eaten. B*gger, we just did. Some items are always available though, and the clay pot baked glass noodles with pork and crab is kinda legendary. Pair it up with the unusual numbers on Zeren Wilson's wine list and you'll understand why Kiln is continually garnering awards for being completely kickass.
