The National Portrait Gallery: ever heard of it? It's the massive internationally renowned museum with the largest collection of portraits on the planet? Yeah, that's the one. The space has been closed for renovations for the past three years - and when it reopens later this month, it's bringing a friend.
Tucked away in the museum's historic vaults and accessed through a secret entrance, Larry's promises all the cultural caché of the gallery upstairs in bar form. The vibe is old-school urban glamour, featuring exposed brick walls lined with 100 portraits of London's best and brightest from the NPG archives - including one of acclaimed actor Sir Laurence Olivier, the venue's namesake. Slide into a seat at the marble-topped, brass-accented bar and immerse yourself in the menu of detail-oriented classics inspired by cultural icons. Take Larry's Dirty Martini, for instance - the bartenders have meticulously sourced seaweed from Wales to make it, since it's inspired by the Welsh photographer Angus McBean.
The bar is the latest from the team behind the Daisy Green Collection, so you can bet its food menu is bangin' too. Luxury is the name of the game: the lobster roll comes with Exmoor caviar, the brie is truffled, and ingredients are sourced from small British producers. And yes, you will be entertained: from burlesque, to jazz nights, to packages for exhibition access and drinks, Larry's gonna show you a good time - once you find him...
