Laurel's On The Roof

California dreamin' on a Shoreditch rooftop

Take the lift seven storeys up at the Mondrian Shoreditch and join the party, babe. Laurel's On The Roof is the hotel's third drinking and dining establishment (after all-day venue Christina's and Spanish restaurant Bibo), and it's bringing groovy glamour to east London.

This sky-high spot is inspired by Hollywood in the 1970s, with lush greenery, rattan to the max and lots of leafy, tropical accents. There's a DJ bumping tunes into the evening, and the space has floor-to-ceiling glass windows that let in a ton of light. Yup, this is prime territory for a photo opp. But the real reason we love this place? It's gotta be the terrace, complete with ah-mazing views of the city and - wait for it - a pool (look but don't touch: swimming privileges are for members only).

Laurel's is open all day, and it's good for both boozy brunch with the crew and for dinner and drinks with that special someone. The cocktails here are naturally the main draw for us, with playful serves like the Frozen Spicy Margarita and old-school drinks like the Wet Gibson. The food menu also delivers some major nostalgia - go for the shrimp cocktail. Sat by the pool on a rare sunny day in London sipping Margs and eating prawns out of a Martini glass, you'll feel like an LA A-lister for sure.
