This joint right opposite Haggerston station was the first bit of Mayfair style swish to enter this easterly way – and you know you’re in for good things ‘cos it’s been set up by the awesome Joseph Arowolo from Sketch.

On the ground floor is the main bar, get there early enough in the summer and you might snatch a seat on the front terrace. You’ll find BarChick up at the bar talking all things barrel aged Mezcal Negronis and working the killer rum selection. Ask nicely and Joseph will talk you through his favourites. The cocktails are all cool and a bit off-the-wall so expect everything from classic Martinis to squid ink vodka drinks served in giant sea shells.

Wanna hear the best bit? Get hold of the 'Maison Private Guest Card’, buy a bottle and you can also sneak into the speakeasy bar downstairs. Plus, if you can't glug it all down in one go, there's personalised liquor lockers too. There's also an upstairs bar complete with kick-ass cigar terrace… so maybe that’s the best bit.
