Mint Gun Club

Mint Gun Club

If you're after a local aperitivo bar-meets-tea room, this local Stoke Newington spot is nailing it.

Mint Gun Club is run by bar guy extradoinaire Richard Hunt, and is inspired by his travels. This international vibe can be seen in the drinks, the decor... hell, even the rare teas. It's all about creative and playful flavours, and we love it.

This is the perfect bar to hit early for some classy aperitifs – think light and fragrant drinks like the Bamboo with its base of fino sherry and coconut wine. The long tonics and sodas are where you should linger though, with not an ingredient wasted. The space is mega comfy but not in a basement, candle-lit and velvet curtain way. Instead it’s more like the light, airy kitchen of your favourite chef with their entire pantry on display.

Open from 3pm you can pop in to enjoy teas, spreads, breads and exotic toppings with a book, your laptop or even a pal if you can rope one out of the office. Heck, Barchick’s Mum would probably love it here too, so why not bring yours? Come evening the vibe is chilled, with couples and small groups having the first drink of the evening. Start with a £5 Gimlets, given a thorough rework by Rich introduce plenty of new and bold flavours, and see where the night goes.
