Roku Japanese Gin Garden at Nobu Hotel Portman Square

Roku Japanese Gin Garden at Nobu Hotel Portman Square

BARCHICK SAYS

Sexy Japanese cocktails, exotic spring vibes + epic sushi. Hip Hip Haru.

Have you got your Haru on yet? If you're more 'huh?' than 'ah ha' then let us explain. Haru is Japanese springtime, and we're embracing the vibes with a couple of kickass gin cocktails and some seriously swanky sushi.

When we want the kinda California rolls that make us go weak at the knees and Sashimi that tastes like it could be straight outta Shibuya, then we hotfoot it over to Nobu. Now there's even more reason to head to Marylebone, as Nobu Hotel London Portman Square has teamed up with House of Suntory’s Roku Gin to create a Japanese-inspired gin garden that looks as good as the cocktails taste.

Think soft-pink light cast by lanterns that glow like the famous blossoming Sakura flowers, Japanese flora and foliage, and Roku Gin cocktails that bring spring to the glass. Each cocktail includes ingredients harvested at the peak of their flavour, from the Sakura flower harvested in the spring to green tea in the summer.

We have our eyes on the Shun Martini (mixed to order, with a choice of Roku Gin or Toki Whiskey and two different flavour combinations – Raspberry and Sakura or Green Tea and Peach), and we'll be finishing with a Smokey Tobacco Toki that combines the banging whiskey with Tobacco Liquor, Sakura syrup, Noilly Pratt Chocolate bitters and Smoky Ginger Ale.

Spring is looking sexier than ever. Will you Haru?
