He's got more gongs than Meryl Streep and some foolproof methods for winning them. Ryan "Mr Lyan" Chetiyawardana came back for more in 2022, opening his first London venture in three years, and returning to his original stomping ground of East London with a relaxed bar in the basement of One Hundred Shoreditch.

While the traditional Lyan-ised brand name has ended up on the cutting room floor, Seed Library has all the hallmarks of a Mr Lyan venue, from an expertly curated drinks menu to the welcoming brand of hospitality his bars are loved for. But if its big sister bar, Lyaness, is a sophisticated orchestra of complex ingredient-led serves, Seed Library is a v cool stripped-back cassette tape of analogue classics inspired by their origin stories, all flipped on the reg for a shuffled playlist of bangers. 

GM Stevie Kane and Head Bartender Dan Garnell might be taking a laid-back approach to cocktail making in this wood-panelled neighbourhood joint, but if there's anything we know about the Lyan pride, it's to never take their intrinsic approach to creativity for granted, so pull up one of the bespoke orange and red cocktail chairs and settle in for a Lyan experience like you've never had before.
