Phoenix, koi carp, dragon or tiger… which one are you gonna pick? No, this isn’t a Mortal Kombat-style computer game, it’s actually the four themes of the restaurant Tattu. Inspired by a traditional Chinese courtyard house, this luxe spot bang in the centre of London boasts four main areas represented by mythical (and not-so-mythical) creatures. It all comes down to what vibe you’re after. 

Phoenix is a sexy bar where you can kick back among lavish textures and colours that make you want to redesign your living room. Cocktails include the Cherry Blossom Negroni, Oolong Old Fashioned and Sesame Sour - epic drinks designed by head of bars Will Meredith, who used to lead the team at the world's best bar, Lyaness (casual). Find koi carp by stepping through the Flower Hung Gate, and bask among pearly, shimmering surfaces while dining on dim sum (lobster and scallop toast is a boujee version of sesame prawn toast and we’re here for it). Then there’s the dragon-guarded Inner Courtyard, where you can eat surrounded by cherry blossom trees under the night sky. Finally, level up in the tiger-inspired dining space. It takes regal feasting to a new level, and you can dig your chopsticks into black cod and wagyu beef while gazing out at the flickering lights and red buses of Tottenham Court Road thanks to wrap-around floor-to-ceiling windows.

Don’t leave without getting involved in the Hidden Dragon dessert cocktail, a neon-lit, glowing, smoking version of an Espresso Martini, and an ideal accompaniment to the vibey beats of the resident DJ.
