The prospect of a European escape this summer is still rocking some "Carrie & Big: will they, won't they" vibes - but no dramas. We can finally see the light at the end of the lockdown tunnel, and Summer 2k21 is gonna be all about the staycay, baby, cos from 12th April, The Berkeley is bringing a dose of the British seaside to Knightsbridge. French Riviera, who?
That's right, sugar - Wilton Place is being given the Whitstable treatment, and it's gonna rock your cockles. Think colourful seafront beach huts and a retro seaside menu with a Berkeley twist: baskets of juicy scampi, grilled whole lobsters and freshly-shucked oysters are joining traditional fish suppers and yeah, they're also bringing out the gourmet 99's. Double flake for us, please.
The beach hut menu will spill out across their terraces and to the outdoor countertop dining, but if you wanna get cosy in one of those huts, gather your crew of 6 (which, in line with government guidelines, can be from different households - bingo!) for the private dining option - it has a minimum spend of £500 on food and beverage, but hey, y'all haven't dined out for four months, you're due an indulgent splurge.
The Berkeley Beach Huts will open from 12th April
