The London Gin Club

The London Gin Club

BarChick loves a bar that serves a wicked history lesson alongside a drink, and London Gin Club’s just that bar. Back in 1933 it was just an Italian cafe but in its current incarnation it’s all about the gin-obsessed—just check the very impressive booklet you’re given and you’ll get a pretty good idea of how into it they are. Dry? Spiced? Sweet? Savoury? They’ve got all the corners covered.

Don’t limit yourself to something you can grab off the supermarket shelf in here ‘cos they’re equipped with an arsenal of gin: we’re talking over 250 varieties, baby! If you’re serious about this spirit and feeling bold, opt for a flight from their tasting menu. You can’t call yourself a gin lover ‘til you’ve tried it. When your perfect serve comes in a Copa glass and not a tumbler, or served with a sprig of rosemary or something random, don’t knock it. Trust us: you’ll never drink gin the same way again.

Feeling peckish? Order all the pies, each of which’ll only set you back around a fiver. Lighting is dim, as we like, and you could be mistaken for thinking you’re in a San Franciscan cafe from the 1950s. Think vintage tin signs reading weird sh*t like ‘puts pussy into fine form’, wood-paneled walls and bebop jazz.
