Book cases, leather bound menus and mahogany furniture illuminated by Anglepoise lamps - is this really the global financial centre that is Canary Wharf?

The Pearson Room is a sophisticated 1950s design led cocktail bar and restaurant that offers the perfect place to disappear over a bourbon if you need to hide from your boss, or if you've simply come to visit the ever evolving Wharf. With its long zinc bar overlooking the stunning Canada Square, our charming host was always on hand to help us work our way slowly (but surely) through the excellent drinks menu.

Turns out whisky sour goes well with courgette fries. And yes, the drinks list is as carefully crafted as the cosy ambience. All hail Lester B. Pearson (look him up).
