We all know The Vault at Milroy's. It's a BarChick ride or die, a Soho institution and a date spot you can rely on. But now his cool younger sibling The Proofing Room has joined the scene and well, we think he's kinda hot. 

You'll find The Proofing Room beneath the storeys of Milroy's Townhouse, a mecca of over 1100 whiskies complete with members club and cigar terrace. There's no bookcase to push through to reach this basement bar, but it has got its own entrance. Think of it like sneaking in via a window while the rest of the house sleeps. Naughty. 

If The Vault is all about tradition and sticking to its roots, The Proofing Room is the modern, experimental antithesis. Dark walls, neon signage, a stunner of a back-bar void of symmetry and lit with white LEDs. The guy at the helm is Chris Tanner. He let his creativity run wild and it's lead to a cocktail menu that masquerades as simple but requires a sh*t loada skill. Turns out they have that by the barrel. If you're feeling dirty, baby, we've got just the ticket. The Dirt made with Calvados, Greek Mastiha, dirt cordial and  soda is fresh, tenderly juicy & earthy. What, you've never drunk dirt before? Trust us, it's ace. Or if you're after something a lil' more familiar, you'll be pleased to know that the infamous Coconut Butter Old Fashioned has migrated over from Soho to join the menu. And it's still as f*cking epic in E1 as back in its original digs.
