Looking for a place to quaff Champagne and sip some banging wines in Chelsea? We know this great little fishmonger…

No, seriously, hear us out. This isn’t your average stockist of seafood. Sure, in the daytime you can swing by to grab some shiny-eyed snapper or a haul of prawns. But in the evening it turns into one swanky Champagne bar and restaurant. BarChick immediately made a beeline for the seating at the front. Clams and oysters rest on ice, and since we’re always up for a shuck then we liked picking our own dinner.

It’s not huge, just one room with bench seating everywhere, so don’t go if you intend to share your darkest secrets to your pal. Or if you wanna break up with someone - awkward. We liked the cheerful hubbub though, and this is Chelsea so expect the other guests to all be as pristine as the perfect plates of food coming from the kitchen.

NB - if you don’t like fish, this won’t float your boat. Since we’re suckers for seafood we ate our way through the daily changing menu without blinking an eye. The wine has some unusual varieties and you can easily splash quite a wedge of cash on a bottle of fancy fizz. Or make like BarChick and order a Mermaid Gin & tonic. Cos who doesn't wanna be more mermaid?
