Ignore the location, this is one of London’s best and most popular pubs, so come and get involved with a gang of mates. It’s probably best in the summer and thanks to its Thames side location it gets jam packed, plus at any given opportunity they get the BBQ burning. There’s an outside bar and on Sundays they have live music, it’s kinda like the Last Chance Saloon. But come winter, don’t fret. They fire up the wood burner in the middle of the main bar area and people get cosy on long tables. So there’s just as much going on, plus if you are big on your sport, they have a separate bar area showing sports on TV. There’s a big range of booze from real ale, to spirits and a lengthy and personal wine list. If you’re not here to booze, then the open kitchen produces some great fresh seasonal pub cooking. Take a date and sit in the restaurant, we had caramelized chorizo risotto and steak and both were damn tasty. Aye aye captain, let’s get this ship a rockin.
