Vesper Bar at The Dorchester

BARCHICK SAYS

A bar worthy of Bond himself

The Dorchester is one of London's most opulent hotels, so when its bar closed for major renovations, we knew some serious glamour was in the works. Now the space has been reimagined as Vesper Bar, a stylish drinking den that's heavy on the vintage charm. This place is named after the Vesper cocktail, which James Bond creator Ian Fleming made famous in Casino Royale. It's fitting, since The Dorchester itself gets multiple shoutouts in the Bond books (that's how you know it's an OG).

Vesper's striking design comes courtesy of Martin Brudnizki, the mastermind behind the interiors at members' club Annabel's, featuring a bar that's dripping with gold and a plated Palladium ceiling that's straight outta the 1930s. It's a special occasion kinda place, so don your tux, darling!

To match these glorious surrounds, the bar team, headed up by Lucia Montanelli, has created the "Stories" menu, with drinks that are all about grandeur. Some of the serves are brand-new experimental creations, and there's also a special focus on the Martini (obvs). In a bar like this, we wouldn't fault you for going shaken, not stirred.
