This may look unassuming from the outside (Young’s pub and all) but this hangout has over 100 bottles of Scottish single malt whisky, London’s largest selection they say, so if that’s your tipple then get in there. See them written along the side of the wall, if it all seems too much, then ask for help. Simple. Plus they have a well-kept selection of traditional real ales and wines.

With a long L-shaped bar, great beer and traditional British grub this pub is pretty alright. Edgware isn’t full of many comfy hangouts, so this place is a godsend. Set up camp on one of the brown leather sofas, read one of the tattered books along the wall and eye up the odd Betty Boop figure perched on a large old barrel. With mismatched stools, granny lamps and mirrors this is quite a nice place to chill with a drink (or a cup of tea and a brownie).
