Part café, part bar, anywhere that serves us cake by day and cocktails by night has our vote. And hey, who says you can’t have carrot cake with your Gin Fizz? We did.
Inspired by all things British, the basement level looks like the pantry in your gran’s country house: rustic, homely and a bit vintage. Upstairs there’s a huge wooden table for sharing where we always seem to pick up a couple of new friends.
The cocktail list is on the sweet side, matching the cakes on offer, and they also have one of the largest mocktail lists we’ve seen. For the non-cocktail drinkers amongst us, they have a grand variety of artisan beers and regularly changing wine list.
They’re pet friendly and always have dog biscuits on the counter with the cakes, and normally a parade of pooches. It’s a super popular Sunday brunch spot as well as after work drinks. Grab a table outside on the terrace where they often host bands – it’s one sweet summer spot.
