BARCHICK SAYS

A pillar of Northern Quarter society, this hipster hangout tends not to take itself too seriously. With a super cool interior decorated by guest artists, colourful wall paintings and a neighbourly vibe, it’s great for an afternoon chill with a beer and a burger, oh yeah.

There’s something for everyone on this varied cocktail list but the Martinis are defo not to be missed. Go for the Straw’Jerry’ Mule (a common twist on the original, swapping vodka for Sailor Jerry’s). Sister venue to Port Street Beer House down the road, of course they also stock a decent selection of beers, as well as some cheap and cheerful wines.

During the week the bar is a creative hub with locals taking advantage of the free-wifi and bangin’ food menu, think toasted sandwiches and big fat burgers (Maple Bacon is our fave) with daily specials. There’s a quiz on the first and third Wednesday of the month, so get ya thinkin’ caps on and get down. Come sunset this place gets busy, shake it to a good range of local guest DJs playing anything from shamelessly hipster indie to electro and hip hop, boom.
