Located slap bang in the middle of Thomas Street in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, the bar doesn’t bother with a sign outside, and it doesn’t need one either as reputation has people queuing down the street to get into this NY inspired hangout most nights.

The bar is in the front room, but follow the table-lined corridor through to the back and you’ll be greeted with the DJ decks, as well as plenty of booths and tables. Over the weekend it’s standing room only with a mix of both students and young professionals heading for a dance on the reclaimed gymnasium flooring to everything from rhythm and blues to bangin’ R’n’B.

Terrace’s cocktail menu had some pretty obscure sounding concoctions, but the bar staff definitely know what they’re doing. The Bon Vivant, made with gin and sweets, made BarChick feel like a kid in a candy store.
