BarChick heads to this Lower East Side bar when she wants to kick back and feel in safe hands. Sick cocktails, oysters on ice and a chilled ambience make this a firm favourite. It used to be Leadbelly, but apart from the name little else has changed. There are the seasonal cocktails and tasty small plates that has us sold from the start.

Lose some time at the bar ticking off the cocktails, many of which are twisted classics. Their Dead Witch was a riff on the Espresso Martini (Thai coconut milk was added, boom). We loved their version of a Pamola, especially alongside some grilled cheese. Now that’s the kinda combo we get out of bed for.

Try and swing by when they’ve got live music, the jazz really sets the scene. Yeah, it’s an ideal date spot, but we also recommend hitting it up with your crew. A fancy dress box is more fun than tacky, and the atmosphere levels up from fresh to funky.
