BARCHICK SAYS

Some bars just beg to be investigated. Blue Quarter is one of them. It’s a real gem of a place - tucked away, tiny, and ideal for the tea-total. By that, we mean the menu takes inspiration from teas. Tea infusions, tea syrups, or tea on its own… you get the idea.

This place has exotic vibes written all over it. Step through the Majorelle Blue door and into a seductive den that’s intended to be an escape from hectic New York. Mediterranean-meets-Morocco in the shadowbox light fixtures, ornate copper fittings and jewel-like mosaic tiles. You’ll even find your martini garnish gets delivered in a mini painted-tagine. Cute.

BarChick got stuck into the ultra-refreshing Oolong Island Iced Tea. It’s served in a vintage Coca-Cola bottle - expect waves of nostalgia a-plenty. Mad for matcha? Pick the Unfinished Story. The fact it’s also got tequila and coconut is just a bonus. Get there in time to grab a spot though - Blue Quarter only has 18 seats, with room for 35 people in the narrow space. You could say it was pretty in-tea-mate.
