Black, white and classy all over, this is the new Dante. Formally known as Cafe Dante (a Greenwich institution), this joint has had a complete do-over with a brand new team, menu, decor and concept whilst still staying true to its Italian roots with good coffee, simple Italian fare and classic drinks. It feels a bit like stepping into a 1960’s noir film, with its brown & white-tiled floor, cream leather banquettes, and staff in white jackets on hand to cater to every whim. Naren Young is the dude behind the booze program here and he's keeping things light and fresh with lots of Italian bitters, liquors, and digestifs. Be sure to check out their negroni program: its mega with a bunch of variation and there's even a classic number on tap. Remember to balance out those liquids with their chow: there’s something for everyone from flatbreads, crudo, and salumi to larger plates and even a big *ss brunch. From the old regulars sipping a coffee street-side and young families grabbing a bite to plenty of discerning drinkers lingering at the bar, it's always a mixed crowd here. It’s also always aperitif hour here, so grab a fresh squeezed OJ and Campari and viva italiano.
