The gorgeous and star-crossed Locanda Verde is Robert Di Niro's barn sized, Italian restaurant in Tribeca. Table reservations are a hot commodity, so head instead to the brasserie style bar for Italian draft beers, wines, and excellent cocktails. The bar can get rammed with a solid after work crowd, but there's plenty of standing room, so let the immaculate bartenders guide you through the interesting wine list. The decor is rustic Italian: think bookshelves stacked with wine bottles and baskets of fruit on the bar, and we love the airy coffee shop in the entrance.

Don't leave without trying the food, it's perfect for sharing, so we say take a date for a romantic, candlelit evening. Alternatively head here with a bunch of mates for a lazy Saturday afternoon brunch and a few Bloody Marys, on a sunny day they open up the French windows so you can sip away with pretty views of Greenwich St. Heaven.
