The Garret East

BARCHICK SAYS

Good news: this stylish cocktail bar is the kinda place in-the-know New Yorkers are fans of. Bad news: if you came for the burgers, you’re about to be disappointed (check The Garret West to see what we’re talking about).

Instead, rock up for inventive cocktails, a sick ‘Happy Hour’, and a sophisticated interior. The antidote to NYC dive bars, it’s Scandi-chic, clean and bright. Whitewashed brick walls, pale wood, candlelight, those vibes. Keep your eyes peeled for the Racoon - he’s the mascot of choice.

That’s not to say The Garret East isn’t hiding its own secrets. Look a little closer and you’ll discover Dinnertable. It’s a secret 20 seater restaurant, and if you’re trying to book for a group larger than four it ain’t gonna happen. Don’t cry if you don’t get in, though - the main lounge room has more than enough going on to keep you and your crew happy for hours yet.
