Tucked off Washington Square Park, this basement number hidden underneath a tattoo shop is seeped in history: Dylan, Ginsberg, and the rest of the Beat Generation once called this Greenwich Village hangout their local in the form of the The Gaslight. These days it’s all floral wallpaper, elegant drinks, high tables and low lights where a well dressed crowd gather nightly and celebrate being alive - in good taste, of course.
Quality is key here, but they also cast an eye at speed - we’re talking about bottled concoctions and taptails, baby. This means, you can have that frost beverage STAT. Having a Goldie Locks moment ? Try a bunch of them without going too big with their Halfies: a collection of mini cocktails to keep you sipping happy. This is the kind of place you can lose time in whilst munching on some small snacks (which will give you ballast) and properly catching up with friends; no shouting required.
