This is one of the coolest bars in Newcastle, on a little cobbled side street connecting Grey Street (cool) with the Bigg Market (not cool, enter at your own risk), PTMY is as close as you’ll want to get to it.

Old man’s pub meets French bistro, it’s got dark wooden floors, big leather Chesterfields, chandeliers, exposed brick walls and a big, high bar. Sit at the bar if you are into your gin, they’ve got over 70 different bottles (one from every port), and trust us when we say you’ll be pleased to meet the bartenders, they’re hot! If gin’s not your thing stick to beer or dabble in the cocktails, the Lumberjack served with a slab of chocolate on the side is damn good but warning it’ll put hairs on your chest.

Get involved in the Martini lunch which is served every day from 12-3pm and includes a grazing board and two cocktails for £20. Otherwise the food menu is full of locally sourced and delicious produce, big up the double smoked cheeseburger.

Oh and if you are into the film Warhorse, you might want to check out the loos, there’s a bike in there that was used in the film… big news (for some).
