BARCHICK SAYS

What this bar lacks in space it makes up for in Latino spirit. It’s probably one of the smallest bars in Newcastle, but that doesn’t deter people from squeezing on in. The influence is Spanish and the manager Peruvian, and it knows how to let its hair down. When you enter it has the feel of a Spanish tapas joint, with Spanish tiling, high stools and dark wood, only you’ll struggle to find tapas in here (not that you’ll mind).

It’s quiet early on, but be on your guard because blink and it’ll be jumping. There’s a little snug at the front if you wanna get all cosy with your date, otherwise hang by the bar cos the bar staff will be dancing on it by the end of the night. This place is a hit all round; it’s free to get into, the DJs will be pumping the sound system 10pm – 3am Friday and Saturday and the cocktails are good, big up the Strawberry Margarita – that’s some sweet goodness right there.

The staff are friendly, the crowd mixed and the happy hour is exactly that (or at least you will be when it ends).
