The Duke of Cambridge

BARCHICK SAYS

It might sound like a cosy old pub, but it’s actually a pretty swanky cocktail bar, so don’t go expecting the former. There’s a large impressive bar with low hanging lamps down one side and a wave of leather seating down the other, the choice my friend is yours (unless it's Friday/Saturday night when you'll be lucky just to get in the door).

Naturally we headed straight to the bar and got chatting to the friendly guys behind it. It turns out they know more than a thing or two about drink making (which is a relief), the Dirty Martini was one of the best in town and came with an extra side shot of brine since we asked for it filthy, good work boys. If that’s not your thing the menu is good and varied and they have a mega selection of booze, the Baby Duke with Beefeater Gin, berry and peach liqueurs, a dash of passion fruit and apple juice was damn tasty too.

These guys also boast a generous happy hour, which for students lasts the whole night, so we say heads up it’s a great place to pull.
