Café L'Antiquari

BARCHICK SAYS

What looks like an antiques shop from the outside was exactly that a few years back, but is now a busy bar which hosts intimate concerts of the Jazz/World/Blues-ey kind every Thursday in it's cosy basement.

There are quirky antiques everywhere so expect to share the table with a singer sewing machine or to have to rest your drink on a black and white style telly but rest assured there’s nothing dusty about this little drinking den. There are the ‘cafe con leche’ crowds during the day but come early eve it starts to buzz with locals and foreigners filing in and spilling out unto the steps outside to smoke a siggie or to call in a mate that happened to walk by.

They serve up a solid soundtrack of the alternative variety with plenty of stuff to hum along to and the happy chicks behind the bar seem to be having a ball also - always a good sign. Barchick managed to bag a seat at their itty bitty bar and noticed a board with a mojito menu on which the ‘hierbas’ one looked particularly interesting. She just stuck with the draught beer though as it seemed like it was going to be that sort of night..
