Buddha Bar

BARCHICK SAYS

This huge decadent bar, the first of the world-dominating Buddha Bars, is a great place to lull away a day munching on fine sushi and sipping elaborate cocktails. Be warned: with no windows you can easily lose track of time, and lunch can turn into an all-dayer, until you miss your shift at work… ahem.

Despite feeling pretty intimate, the venue is  massive, and the crowd brings in all types from the old school yuppies that first made it famous back in the 90s to tourists, who've read about it in guidebooks. People-watching extraordinaire.

Watch out for the huge Buddha in the centre - looking up at it after a few drinks might make you fall over. Want more than sushi? Head downstairs to the restaurant and get involved. This place is pretty pricey though, so bring the plastic, but hey, that’s tourist attractions for you.
