When BarChick first awoke after a recent night out in Paris, we initially thought we had arisen from some kind of dream about cocktails served by hot men in nothing more than shirts, braces and boxers… what a great idea for a bar we thought to ourselves. With extreme happiness, BarChick realised this was no dream but a memory of Calbar, not far from Bastille.

What makes the Calbar even better though is that this is not just a gimmick, in the sense that the drinks and service are also spot on, we spotted a number of well-known Parisian bartenders drinking at the Calbar the night we popped in, so that is a stamp of approval in itself. BarChick went for a classic Tom Collins and a Surprise Me which was just that and does BarChick likes surprises.

Food is also available in a variety of club Sandwiches and cheese and charcuterie plates starting at 10€ each, cocktails are from 9€, pas mal du tout! Finally a word for the heterosexual men out there… there are many reasons for you to also visit the Calbar, if the drinks, food and service aren’t enough to tempt you, remember hot bartenders means hot women propping up the bar!
