Red House

BARCHICK SAYS

When BarChick first stumbled across Red house we thought we might have ended up in Paris, Texas not Paris, France (yes Paris, Texas does in fact exist).

There's a bit of a Wild West saloon feel to the place with the stars and stripes on the walls, a giant longhorn skull above the bar and the fact that the awesome bartender Joe is from the US of A himself.

We propped ourselves up at the bar and went for a Wild West Side (tequila, chili, cucumber and lime) and a Fucking Legend (with mezcal, winter falernum, yellow chartreuse, lime, mint and Suze). The cocktails were great and only 8 euros each (FYI that’s amazing value for Paris) we also added a plate of tortillas for 4 euros which came with the best guacamole we had ever tasted!

Our favourite seat was at the bar as it's that bit darker and the music's that little bit louder, but make sure you check out the second room while you're there as it has a big buck hunter pinball machine and super comfy diner style booths. It’s totally unpretentious and fun - perhaps the clue was in the Hawaiian garland wearing rubber chicken on the wall and Christmas tree on the ceiling. Enjoy.
