Cruise though the mall and get yourself out the other end, and just when you think you’re in no man’s land you'll spot this small but chalet like bar. It's got that après-ski vibe to it with pine wood, a pair of skis propped up in the corner and that lingering feeling that things might be about to get wild. The chalk board is the best "Before I die I want to......" grab a piece of chalk and get stuck in! There are also board games in the corner if someone’s hogging the chalk.

The booze is strictly local microbrewery beers and local kiwi wines, authentic I guess. If you're going for a cocktail have a chat to the guys behind the bar, we loved the Penguin revival made from Martel VS, Havana 7 Anos, white crème de Menthe, Fernet Branca served over ice with lemon zest and a dribble of absinthe. If you're peckish there's pizza on the menu, nothing fancy but it does the job, just like everything else here.
